The Huawei Y330 is a well-balanced Android OS, v4.3 (Jelly Bean) smartphone at a bargain price. The handset, has a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor. It supports all the connectivity options you’ve come to expect from a modern smartphone as well including 3G data, Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 but no NFC. The Y330 also has a 480x854 resolution display and a useful amount of free internal storage as well as a MicroSD card slot which supports up to 32GB of additional storage.

The Y330 is not a bad looking handset, and while it won’t win any design awards I found its feel sturdy and reasonably comfortable in hand.

The Y330's 4 inch display has a 480x854 pixel resolution, this resolution means that text is reasonably sharp, and is useful for web browsing. While you may not be able to read text at full zoom, but you can at least read headlines to help you pick the right place to zoom in. The screen is also bright, though I found the colour to be a bit washed out. However for the price, it’s far from a deal breaker.

The Y330 sports a 3MP camera on the back of the device but it has no flash so its performance suffers in low-light conditions, again considering the price it's a reasonable camera to have.

There are useful features, such as the ability to customize which shortcuts appear when you drag down the notification bar, from a list including some commonly-accessed shortcuts such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Airplane Mode.

While the Y330 doesn't play media and big heavy games all that well, it doesn't need to. It can do all the smartphone basics, such as sending emails, IMs and making calls, without slowing down and that makes it a reasonably good performer overall.
